Reflecting the studio’s core philosophy, Pulp Series is an end-to-end investigation into recycling and exhaustive production. The process is initiated with the construction of molds to form paper pulp into rough vessels consisting of manufacturable segments. Each pulp vessel is simultaneously a stand-alone object and a starting point for more complex processes. In one iteration latex slip was cast into the form/waste-mold, and in another a ceramic plemp body was applied to the form/waste-mold. In a third iteration the mold was built-up and brought through a foundry workflow.
