This short-term investigation was undertaken in collaboration with Dow-DuPont. Drawing from pattern history and the woodworking techniques of inlay and marquetry the project demonstrated pattern-making potential in solid surface materials. For Dow-DuPont, the aim of the exploration was to consider avenues for expressing and revitalizing their brand in anticipation of the 50th anniversary of Corian. The exploration accords with core principles in Circular Economy thinking by suggesting a route for fostering circulation of widely distributed, and over- and dead-stocked products and materials.
